Good news! Our chapter president, aka DJ Dr. Rod of Greater Fox Chapter of USA Dance, is in full recovery from his surgery and is excited about our upcoming dances. During recuperation time he and Gail, his wife and our chapter treasurer, updated the chapter’s website. “TRAVEL THE WORLD’’ SEPTEMBER 21
Join us for an evening of dancing and socializing on Saturday, September 21 at our theme dance “Travel the World” featuring music with destinations in their title as “Hotel California”, “Havana” and “April in Paris”.
Now is the time to wear an article of clothing which identifies the place you have traveled or would like to visit, i.e. tee shirt, jacket, hat. Some are designing their “destination” shirt. It will be fun to see how many places will be represented.
Frank and Jackie Penze will be teaching a complimentary Cha Cha lesson at 7:45 p.m.
In addition, there will be free cake & coffee, chances to win door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and other surprises! DJ Dr. Rod will be playing a variety of dance music for us at St. John’s Lutheran Church’s Activity Center, 300 Jefferson Street in downtown Algonquin. Please bring a donation for the food pantry.
Doors open at 7:15 p.m., dance lesson at 7:45 p.m. and open dancing following the lesson. Join the Greater Fox Valley Chapter of USA Dance for an evening of dancing socializing and good fun. Exciting and fun theme dances are scheduled for this fall. Every dance is also a benefit for the food pantry and December’s dance is for Home of the Sparrow. Remember, our Dances are held at St. John's Lutheran Church's Activity Center in downtown Algonquin.

The November dance and silent auction is always a popular dance because of the many items available sold at far less its value. I have started collecting gift cards and items. We have plenty of baskets this year but if you wish to donate merchandise or gift cards
please let me know. So far gift cards and or merchandise have been donated from Kyoto Japanese Steak House, Nick’s Pizza & Pub, Texas Road House, Plum Garden Restaurant, Jewel Osco, Rookies All-American Pub & Grill, Bulldog Ale House, Grand Buffet and D’s Boutique.

Be sure to watch the 28th Season of “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday, September 16. A freshened up format is promised with no more scoring paddles. It is rumored Snoop Dog and Huey Lewis will be contestants. We will see.
