It was so good to see everyone after the summer hiatus. Many thanks to those who helped make the dance a success with set up and break down, decorating, kitchen help or bringing snacks: Linda & John Troester, Beth Christiansen, Jim Krein, Rose Englebrecht and Judi and Peter Spizzirri. DJ Rod and Gail mix of music kept the dance floor full.
At every dance we give back to the community. St. John’s Church is so appreciative of our donations to the food pantry. But most of the time specific perishables and/or nonperishable’s are needed. It is easier for their committee to fulfill the needs with cash donations. There will always be a donation jar at the front desk.
The church is no longer continuing with Comfort Dog Ministry. They are very grateful to us our support of Butter the Comfort Dog over the past years. She was truly a blessing to many people during her lifetime.

Our silent auction dance is one of the favorite events of the year because baskets stuffed with items and gift cards are usually sold far below their value. It’s just in time for Thanksgiving as well as ideal for gift baskets for Christmas.
The auction involves a lot of work getting gift certificates, baskets and items and then putting everything together to make attractive packages. If you have items to donate, gift certificates from your favorite places you patronize or perhaps helping to put together baskets, please give me a call, 847-639-8699 or email at Jackiepenze@aol.com.
There are just too many businesses making donations for next month's silent auction and dance to list in this letter!
but we do have some new donors that include:Galati’s Hideaway and Koyoto Japanese Steak House to name a few.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the:
…Saturday, November 16-“Thanks for Giving & Silent Auction” featuring the Fox Trot
…Saturday, December 14 –“Jingle Bell Ball” benefit for the Home of the Sparrow featuring the Waltz.
...And ONE MORE! A special 2020 celebration
on January 18 we will be celebrating our chapter’s 23rd anniversary!
“Celebrating OUR New Year” Dance & Buffet. Texas Roadhouse will again feature their famous chilli with all the fixings, Seasoned Rice and their home made dinner rolls with honey butter. There will be plenty of other delicious food too.
The need is great so we will be charging a small fee of $3.00 per person which will be donated to church’s food pantry.
You are welcome and encouraged to give more if you can. Thank you.
